According to the statistical data presented by the National Bureau of Statistics, the trade flow between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova reached the amount of $ 1 611.7 M and increased by 37.6% compared with the Q1, 2021. The European Union remains the main trading partner of the Republic of Moldova.

Moldovan exports to the European Union market constituted $ 713.4 M and has reached a share of 67% of total exports. Compared to Q1, 2021, Moldovan exports to EU increased by 62%.

 

Out of all Moldovan exports to EU, Romania has a share of 47.2% ($ 337.2 M), followed by Italy with 16.5% ($ 117.7 M), Germany with 8.8% ($ 63.1 M) and other EU countries.

Out of the total Moldova’s exports to the EU, agricultural products have a share of 51.2% and industrial products – 48.8%. The most exported products to the EU are: electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof, oil seeds and oleaginous fruits, animal, vegetable or microbial fats and oils, cereals, etc.

IMPORTS

In Q1, 2022 imports from EU to MD reached an amount of $ 898.3 M which represents a share of 44% of total Moldovan imports. Compared to Q1, 2022 Moldovan imports from EU increased by 22.8%.

Out of all Moldovan imports from EU, Romania has a share of 30.5% ($ 274.2 M), followed by Germany with 15.6% ($ 140.1 M), Italy with 12.3% ($ 110.5 M), Poland with 7.4% ($ 66.2 M) and other EU Countries.

Out of the total Moldova’s imports from the EU, agricultural products have a share of 19.1% and industrial products – 80.9%. The most imported products from the EU are: mineral fuels, electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof, parts of vehicles, parts of nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances, pharmaceutical products, etc.
