Currently, the knowledge of a foreign language is one of the basic requirements imposed by employers in most of the industries, including the customs service. In this regard, the Customs Service administration imposed the organisation of an intensive English course aimed to improve the knowledge of this language for their employees.
With the support of the EU-funded project “Support to the DCFTA implementation in the Republic of Moldova” and specialists from a language training center, the courses will last 10 weeks and will include the participation of 15 employees.
The target group consists of heads of subdivisions, customs inspectors and responsible for communication with development partners.
The aim of the course is to develop communication skills necessary for the efficient fulfilment of duties in customs and institutional capacity building, as well as facilitate cross-border communication.
The course participants will get certificates of language proficiency at the end of the study.
English language ranks among the three most spoken languages in the world with over 300 million speakers, after Chinese (Mandarin) and Spanish. At the same time, English is the official language in at least 53 states, making it the most widely spoken language in the European Union and the first official language of the United Nations.
