On 10-11 March, the workshop on law making, legal drafting and approximation to EU law was held. This event was organized by the EU-funded project “Support to the DCFTA process in the Republic of Moldova” (DCFTA project).
Approximately 20 participants from the Ministry of Economy attended this workshop who have responsibilities for law drafting and for approximation of the Moldovan laws with the EU Directives/Regulations which are listed in the Association Agreement (including representatives of the Energy Division, Quality Infrastructure Division, Market Surveillance Division, Electronic Commerce Division, DCFTA Division and Legal Division).
Mr. Ralf Juelich, the international Short-Term Expert of the DCFTA project conducted this Workshop. During the first day, Mr. Juelich introduced the relevant EU law making concepts and use of legal terms and a brief overview of the EU law approximation process. In this context, he made a practical demonstration regarding law making which included aspects related to the development of a legal concept, the necessary elements of the preparatory stages for law making and the various stages of the law making process.
During the second day, Mr. Ralf Juelich presented the rule of law standards, the structure of laws and by-laws and the substance of a legal act and final provisions. The expert closed the workshop on a practical note with a presentation on good legal drafting techniques and legal language and on the special legal approximation requirements of the DCFTA.
