According to the statistical data presented by the National Bureau of Statistics, the trade flow between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova reached the amount of $ 5 068.5 M and increased by 23.3% compared with the 2020. Moldovan exports to the European Union market constituted $ 1 919.4 M and has reached a share of 61% of total exports. Compared to 2020, Moldovan exports to EU increased by 17%.

 

Out of all Moldovan exports to EU, Romania has a share of 43.4% ($ 833.5 M), followed by Germany with 12.8% ($ 245.4 M), Italy with 12.5% ($ 240 M) and other EU countries.

Out of the total Moldova’s exports to the EU, agricultural products have a share of 34% and industrial products – 66%. The most exported products to the EU are: insulated wire, cables and electric conductors, seats, sunflower seeds, sunflower-seed, safflower or cotton-seed oil, wine, etc.

IMPORTS

In 2021, imports from EU to MD reached an amount of $ 3 149.1 M which represents a share of 43.8% of total Moldovan imports. Compared to 2020, Moldovan imports from EU increased by 27.4%.

Out of all Moldovan imports from EU, Romania has a share of 26.2% ($ 609.8 M), followed by Germany with 17.4% ($ 404.2 M), Italy with 14.21% ($ 328.5 M), Poland with 8.3% ($ 191.9 M) and other EU Countries.

Out of the total Moldova’s imports from the EU, agricultural products have a share of 14% and industrial products – 86%. The most imported products from the EU are: petroleum oils, medicaments, machinery and mechanical appliances, etc.
