Since the implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the EU (DCFTA), the Republic of Moldova has exported products and goods on the Common Market worth over 2.2 billion USD. The agreement entered into force on 1 September 2014.
According to the Ministry of Economy, after the DCFTA implementation, it started a change in the structure of Moldovan exports to the EU, in the top positions being placed the industrial goods, which occupies 65% of all exported goods. Also, the statistical analysis shows a significant increase in grain exports by applying the anti-circumvention mechanism. Only in the first semester of 2016 were exported: wheat - 178 220 tonnes (237% of the established rate - 75 000 tonnes), processed cereal - 10507 tonnes (420% of the total of 2500 tons), sugar - 38 898 tonnes (104% of the total 37,400 tons), etc. The main European partners for exports are Romania (23.8%), Italy (10%), United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (6.5%), Germany (6.5%), France (2.5 %) and Poland (3.3%).
Regarding foreign investments in the Republic of Moldova, in the top 5 enters four EU countries - the Netherlands, Cyprus, France and Spain. In 2015 in the national economy were made direct foreign investments worth 228.5 mln. USD, with 14% more than in 2014.
During the implementation of the DCFTA, in order to harmonize national standardization system at EU level were adopted about 8500 European / international standards. Consecutively, in the years 2014-2016 were canceled over 11,400 Moldovan overdue standards.
On September 13, the Ministry of Economy organizes the Conference "Two years of implementation of the DCFTA" in which along with development partners, representatives of sector organizations and private sector, NGOs and other specialists will analyze all the DCFTA facilities provided to our country, and issues identified during the two years implementation of the DCFTA.
