The Ministry of Economy will expand the fields of bilateral cooperation with France

Taking forward and expanding areas of bilateral economic cooperation between Moldova and France, taking experience and best practices in niche business from the food industry, establishing connections in the business associations sector were the main topics of discussion at the meeting of Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova, Octavian Calmic with Martine Pinville, Secretary of State for commerce, crafts, consumer and social economy at the Ministry of Economy of France and the representatives of the French Agency for Export "Business France".

At the meeting, Octavian Calmic spoke about the economic situation in Moldova, the relationship with French companies from our country and the opportunities for expansion of bilateral cooperation in the IT sector, energy, industry, agriculture etc. Also, he mentioned about the conditions that our country offers to foreign investors. Among these have been counted tax concessions and customs of the Free Economic Zone and industrial parks, the provisions of the Trade Facilitation Agreement signed with the WTO involving the principle of "a window" for export, duty-free for export oriented companies and others.

Martine Pinville welcomed the determination of Moldovan authorities on the implementation of commitments with the EU and the implementation of major reforms. The French official also stressed the need to improve the framework for bilateral cooperation to facilitate trade and the development of joint investment projects, referring to the amendment of the double taxation agreement. In this respect, the French authorities are going to submit proposals to the Moldovan side and initiate internal procedures.

Also, Moldovan delegation and representatives of "Business France" agreed to identify areas of cooperation with Moldova and establish the organization of missions in our country.

The French Agency for Export "Business France" has 85 offices in different countries and provides support in developing and promoting business projects both French and local.
