The Ministry of Economy in partnership with the EU Delegation to Moldova will launch a national information and communication campaign on DCFTA.The announcement was made yesterday by the Deputy Minister of Economy, Octavian Calmac, during the conference "DCFTA – Efficient information for business in Moldova". The event was attended by the EU Ambassador to Chisinau, Pirkka Tapiola, the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova, Valeriu Lazar, over 100 representatives of SMEs and civil society.
During the conference Octavian Calmac claimed that alongside with the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement with the EU, we need to boost the communication and information in the business environment at the regional level through a national campaign on DCFTA, which will integrate all the communication efforts of the central and local public authorities, donors and civil society.
The Head of the EU Delegation in Moldova, Pirkka Tapiola mentioned that the partnership with the authorities and the business environment is very important for an efficient communication, which will respond to the expectations of the business community on business development in the context of DCFTA.
The chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova, Valeriu Lazar has focused on the conclusions of the first experiences of DCFTA implementation and its entry into force, highlighting the influence of external and internal factors on this process. He also stated that to achieve the DCFTA objectives further is needed to increase competitiveness, diversify markets, improve the investment climate and to implement policies to modernize the national economy.
The event continued with a presentation of studies on the readiness of Moldovan companies to capitalize the DCFTA and ended with an open discussion with the entrepreneurs and the key people in this field.
