The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Octavian Calmac, appointed as the head of the Group of negotiators to participate in negotiations on the new Memorandum on Economic and Financial Policies between Moldovan Government and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) met with the IMF mission, headed by Ivanna Vladkova-Hollar.
During the meeting were discussed issues related to the macroeconomic situation, structural reforms implemented by the Moldovan authorities for improving corporate governance, energy system, etc.
In particular, it was discussed the situation in the energy sector and measures taken by the authorities in Chisinau on solving problems related to provision of electricity, gas and heat.
Octavian Calmac and Ivanna Vladkova-Hollar agreed to establish a permanent dialogue between the Negotiating Group and IMF mission in our country, in order to streamline the consultation process in developing a draft Memorandum on Economic and Financial Policies between Moldovan Government and the IMF.
IMF mission will be staying in Moldova from 5 to 15 July 2016.
