The law on electronic commerce has been adapted to the EU regulations

On 16 November, the Government approved a draft law proposing the amendment of Law on electronic commerce.

The project consists in eliminating the gaps in the national legal and regulatory framework and the implementation of new rules in accordance with the European legislation and the Association Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union. The application of these measures will provide more opportunities to develop e-commerce in Moldova.

An important aspect in this regard is to stimulate growth of enterprises, increasing investment in innovation, which are developed due to electronic systems and has the potential to strengthen the competitiveness of enterprises of all levels in Moldova.

Those interested in e-commerce can call the public institution responsible for this area, Consumer Protection Agency.

Mentioned that with the signing of the Association Agreement, which includes the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, Moldova has committed itself to implement the EU legislation and practice in several areas, including in electronic commerce.

The respective draft law will be reviewed and approved by Parliament.
