The Governmental Commission for European integration assessed the current state of fulfillment of the Road Map and the National Action Plan for the Implementation of the Association Agreement

The progress in implementing the Road Map on priority reforms and arrears in implementing the National Plan were the main topics on the agenda of the meeting of the Governmental Commission for European integration, chaired by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, which was held yesterday, March 30, 2016.

The State Chancellery, the National Bank and the National Agency for Food Safety reported on the achievements of the actions under their responsibility, in particular those planned for March.

The General Secretary of the Government, Tudor Copaci, presented the measures taken to implement the Public Administration Reform. The Head of State Chancellery stressed the importance of speeding up the adoption of the Reform Strategy for Public Administration. Also, problems in terms of capacity of the National Agency for Food Safety to effectively manage testing of animal products for export to the EU have been discussed.

At the meeting were highlighted the achievements for implementing the key measures such as the development of the activity of the National Council for Public Administration Reform and on banking size, elaboration of Action Plan for implementing the recommendations of the Financial Sector Assessment Program.

The Prime Minister emphasized the need for maintaining the pace of enforcement of commitments undertaken and demanded for the next meeting the results of the implementation of the Road Map and National Plan for the first quarter of 2016 and the arrears for 2014-2015. The Prime Minister also asked the Ministry of Economy to come up with a report on the implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA).

The next meeting of the Governmental Commission for European integration is going to be held on April 6.
