Yesterday, the Prime Minister Pavel Filip chaired the first meeting in 2017 of the Governmental Commission for European Integration. During the meeting has been examined the Report on the fulfillment of the National Action Plan for the implementation of the Republic of Moldova-European Union Association Agreement from 2014 to 2016.
According to the information provided by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the actions planned for this period were completed at a rate of 73.73% and the harmonization of national legislation with the European acquis communautaire is growing. At the same time, in 2016, several backlogs have been eliminated due to the successful implementation of the Road Map agreed with the Brussels authorities.
During the discussions, Mr. Pavel Filip emphasized the need for developing a separate communication plan regarding the benefits of the Association Agreement that would better explain to citizens what this Agreement means and what it gives. Also, the foreign partners will be informed about the steps taken by the Moldovan authorities to implement the Agreement.
The next meeting of the Republic of Moldova – European Union Association Agreement will be held in March 2017.
