The EU expert mission is to visit Moldova next week to provide guidance and support to the country’s Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry to ensure an efficient implementation of the Association Agreement (AA) with the EU in the field of agriculture and rural development. The visit is organised by the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument of the European Commission (TAIEX) upon request and in cooperation with the country’s authorities.
EU experts will hold a number of meetings with senior officials of the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry (MAFI), in charge of coordinating of the implementation of the AA, as well as the staff from the International Relations and European Integration Department. During the five-day mission, the Moldovan counterparts will present their country’s progress to date on the AA implementation in the area of agriculture and rural development, as well as evaluation of the current coordination processes within the MAFI for the AA implementation by Moldova.
TAIEX experts will also train the staff of the MAFI’s Department of Foreign Relations and European Integration to improve skills in drafting reports for EU structures, delivering reports for the leadership of the ministry in the context of participation in meetings of the EU – Moldova association structures.
TAIEX is a demand-driven tool that supports partner countries with the approximation of national laws, regulations and quality standards to those of EU Member States in the framework of Cooperation or Association agreements signed with the EU. In the Eastern Neighbourhood, TAIEX works with Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
