The Cabinet of Ministers approved at yesterday's meeting the signature of a new agreement between the Moldovan Government and Turkish Government on the mutual promotion and protection of investments.

The document was drafted to enhance the friendly relations between the parties and to ensure the development of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation. Moreover, besides creating favorable conditions for enhancing and protecting the investments made by individuals and legal entities in the partner country, the new Act will also regulate the way of solving any disputes or disagreements.

The intergovernmental agreement will be signed for a period of 10 years, with possibility of extension, and will replace the document signed on February 14, 1994.

The need to renew bilateral relations in the mutual promotion and protection of investments has emerged with the signing of bilateral Free Trade Agreement in 2014, but also for deepening trade relations between the two countries.

According to official statistics, in Moldova are registered over a thousand Moldovan-Turkish companies.
