From 3-7 December 2018, the QI project delivered a workshop for personnel from the main Business Support Organisations (BSOs) of Moldova (ODIMM, the Chamber of Commerce, EBA, National Confederation of Employers and 6 more). The objective of the workshop was to enhance understanding of DCFTA and or the exporting processes, in order to enable BSO staff to provide relevant quality information to their member companies. The December workshop was one of a series of workshops for BSOs which the QI project will deliver over the coming months.
Four international experts (from Austria, Greece, Ukraine and Uzbekistan) made presentations during the workshop. They started by explaining how to assess the export-readiness of companies, using a range of diagnostic and self-assessment tools; they then moved on to the importance of developing an export-related investment programme, providing guidance on the steps needed to achieve this; after this, the focus was turned to marketing, initially explaining how to explore market potential, and the basic facts of marketing products, through promotion and packaging/branding, and leading to the development of an export-focused marketing plan. Through a better appreciation of these aspects, BSO staff will have a greater understanding of their member companies’ needs, when those companies turn to the BSOs for guidance and advice.
The material they used during the workshop is freely available via the following link (click here): the presentation slides are in Romanian and English and most of the hand-outs are in English. Collectively, this is a very useful source of information for anyone remotely interested in the subject.
