Yesterday took place the opening event of the International Forum of the Central European states CEFTA Week 2015 organized by the Ministry of Economy.

The event was attended by The Deputy Prime Minister of Economy, Stephane Bride, Head of EU Delegation in the Republic of Moldova, Pirkka Tapiola, the US ambassador in Chisinau, James D. Pettit, and the General Secretary of the Regional Cooperation Council, Goran Svilanovic.

In his speech, Stephane Bride stressed out that, in the context of the presidential mandate held this year by the Republic of Moldova within CEFTA, are promoted five priority areas such as trade facilitation, services trade liberalization, attracting investment, capacity building and transparency.

Head of EU Delegation in the Republic of Moldova, Pirkka Tapiola said that CEFTA is a cornerstone in the process of development of the economic cooperation relations, attraction of investments and the fight against unemployment in the Republic Of Moldova. On the other side, the US ambassador in Chisinau, James D. Pettit said that the US welcomes and supports Moldova's European path, but to continue this journey from the authorities are required to demonstrate the continuation of reforms.

According to the agenda, on 24 to 25 November will be held negotiations for liberalizing trade in services within CEFTA, on November 25 will convene the CEFTA Committee for trade facilitation, on November 26 will be held the CEFTA ministerial Conference and on November 24 to 26, under CEFTA Week, will be held the communication platform G2B and B2B.
